Pittsburgh Hotels Committed to Offering a Safe Stay
You deserve a trip to look forward to after all you have been through in 2020! And, the MeetPITTSBURGH team is excited to welcome you to our beautiful city and hopeful that you will leave feeling engaged and inspired.
So, you’re planning to attend a business meeting in Pittsburgh? Great!
The Pittsburgh tourism and hospitality communities are ready to welcome you, too. MeetPITTSBURGH has worked with these communities to form the Pittsburgh Global Health & Safety (PGH) Commitment, a mutual pledge between the Pittsburgh hospitality and tourism communities and the region’s residents and visitors. As you plan your trip to Pittsburgh, please know that state-of-the-art health and safety protocols and practices are in place that prioritize your wellbeing, and our partners are aligned in exceeding your highest expectations.
We all know that one of the best parts of a business trip is the hotel stay. A home-away-from-home, your hotel offers you a space to decompress, relax and prepare for the work ahead.
The Pittsburgh hotel community is committed to offering you the same experience you have grown to love while also placing health and safety above all else. From pre-arrival, elevator rides, housekeeping and more, Pittsburgh’s world-class hotel offerings have the protocols in place to give you confidence in our city.
Pre-arrival
Expect an email from your hotel prior to arrival encouraging contactless check-in (via an online app) and outlining the additional safety features in place throughout the hotel.
Arrival
After you self-park (recommended) or valet (team members will wear gloves and disinfect the vehicle after use), you’ll be greeted in the lobby by a hotel team member, who will ensure you have a mask or face covering. No worries if you forgot - they’ll have extra available!
Check-in
Two options here! Check in through the hotel’s app, and you’ll receive a notification when your room is ready. Simply stop by the hotel front desk to pick up your keys and swipe your credit card. Or, visit the front desk staff to process check-in. Plexi-glass shields can be found at the front desk, as well as distance markers in high-traffic areas. You also will see signage reiterating proper health and safety practices, as well as an over-abundance of hand sanitizing stations.
Elevators
The elevators may be the cleanest place in the entire hotel! Elevator button panels and handrails are cleaned and disinfected on an hourly basis. Signage will be posted to recommend no more than 2-4 riders in an elevator at one time.
Guest Rooms & Housekeeping
You can relax with confidence!
Each guest room will be deep cleaned after the previous occupant checks out. All re-usable collateral will be removed and replaced with single-use or electronic versions. Increased disinfecting will help high-touch areas, such as door handles, telephones, surface tops, TV remote, alarm clock, lamps and light switches, bathroom fixtures and faucet handles, hair dryers and drapery pull handles. Guests will have the option to accept or decline in-stay housekeeping service.
Food & Beverage
Room service, if available, will be delivered in disposable containers and left at the guestroom door for a contactless experience. On-site restaurants are ensuring proper physical distancing between tables and seats at the bar. All tables and chairs will be disinfected after each use.
Single-use or electronic menus are utilized throughout the city, and dining room capacities will adhere to local guidelines.
Recreation
Fitness center capacities will adhere to local guidelines. All equipment will be sanitized before and after each use, and communal water stations have been removed. All moveable pool furniture will be spaced out to encourage social distancing, and the water in pools is automatically and continuously disinfected through existing equipment and processes. Pool usage will require an advance sign up.
As you can see, the tourism and hospitality communities are prepared for your arrival. You have our commitment that your safety is our top priority. So, pack those bags – we are ready to take good care of you!
