Fall Coffee & Cocktails Around Pittsburgh
Celebrate the season with some delicious cool-weather beverages in Pittsburgh!
Pittsburgh in the fall is one of the most anticipated times of the year. From the gorgeous change in scenery to cooler, more enjoyable temperatures, it's no surprise why locals look forward to this season all year long.
With the season change comes notable change elsewhere, too; the clothing becomes warmer and cozier, the restaurants roll out their autumn specials and, as most people would also say, "It's pumpkin spice season!" This is all well and good if you actually like pumpkin spice, but what about those of us who prefer something outside of the pumpkin spice box? Thankfully, I've got you covered and have found a few favorites around the city.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Where to get it: Caffe d'Amore, Lawrenceville
Their vegan-friendly pumpkin spice latte is going to make a fan out of you even if you're not a vegan or into pumpkin spice. It's that good. Honorable mention: Give their maple latte a try!
Chai Tea Latte
Where to get it: Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange, Strip District
If coffee isn't your favorite, look no further. Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange has a Chai Tea Latte that's best described as "fall in a cup." Think about a typical latte, but with all the chai spices and none of the coffee flavor.
Honey Cardamom Latte
Where to get it: Convive Coffee, Lawrenceville
Convive has a fantastic lineup of fall drinks including a smoke salted maple latte and steamed spiced cider, but the Honey Cardamom Latte will quickly become your new fall favorite.
Caramel Hazelnut Latte
Where to get it: Alihan's Coffee & Breakfast, Downtown
Mix one shot of Alihan's coffee of the week with hot chocolate, hazelnut and caramel and you have the perfect way to warm up on a crisp fall morning.
Spiced Pear Latte
Where to get it: Commonplace Coffee, Southside Works
There is nothing commonplace about the drink specials happening at Commonplace's locations. Grab a brown sugar ginger latte at their Squirrel Hill location, the maple cinnamon latte at their Garfield location, or our personal favorite, the spiced pear latte at their Southside Works stop.
Charcoal Lemonade
Where to get it: Press House Coffee, Sewickley
We love it when a coffee shop goes all in with exciting new flavors that goes beyond the pumpkin spice. At Press House, seek out their spiced charcoal lemonade for a spooky looking drink with a flavor you won't forget.
French Toast Mocha
Where to get it: Nicholas Coffee and tea Co., Downtown
Treat yourself and go decadent with this new seasonal latte from Nicholas Downtown! Breakfast in a mug with spice brown sugar, maple and vanilla (be sure to get the whipped cream and white chocolate on top).
While the drinks above are all great for a midday pick-me-up, if you're in the market for something a little *stronger,* here are a few options for those of us who have passed our 21st birthdays.

Apple Cider Margarita
Where to get it: Mad Mex, Shadyside, Waterworks, Monroeville & more locations
What's not to like about a margarita? Let alone a margarita with a crisp apple flavoring in a caramel-rimmed glass? Johnny Appleseed would be proud.
Hard Apple Cider
Where to get it: Arsenal Cider, Lawrenceville, Do
If you've been to Arsenal, you know that cider is the name of its game. With a menu so extensive, it's hard to pick a favorite, but for me Honeycrisp Apple rates highly! Stop in today and try them all!
Scarecrow
Where to get it: Brides & Bourbon, Downtown
For exciting, vibrant cocktails paired with an amazing venue and superb nightlife, head to Brides & Bourbon. Inventive drinks like the scarecrow (vanilla vodka, creme de cacao, pumpkin pie syrup, orange and oat milk cream) top their modern cocktail list for this fall.
