Destination Master Plan and Tourism Rebranding Initiatives
Help Us Build the Future of Pittsburgh
At VisitPITTSBURGH we know that travel and tourism is the engine that celebrates and ignites the spirit of a city while driving its economy. Our mission is to continually seek ways to express the myriad of voices, places, and experiences that comprise the vivid, ever-evolving tapestry that is Pittsburgh.
Nothing delights us more than hearing visitors had a surprisingly wonderful time in Pittsburgh, whether they traveled here for business, pleasure, or both, and that they look forward to returning.
To ensure we’re reflecting the authentic story of Pittsburgh in a compelling and accurate way, VisitPITTSBURGH has embarked on two initiatives. The Destination Master Plan is research-backed long-term strategy to create a blueprint for the continual progression of Pittsburgh as a thriving, economically sound region offering opportunities for residents to have satisfying and sustainable lives. The Tourism Rebranding Initiative updates the look and feel of VisitPITTSBURGH for potential visitors to more accurately capture the energy, inventiveness, and diversity of experiences the region offers today. One project looks toward our building a legacy while the other illuminates and amplifies who we are today.
As a resident, whether native or transplant, your voice is vital to the success and resonance of this important work. By sharing your opinion, stories, and experiences, you will help enrich the message we bring to visitors today and help shape the Pittsburgh of tomorrow. Please take a moment to share what you know and love about Pittsburgh and its environs. Tells us about your favorite neighborhood eatery, an undiscovered hike, choice vistas and views along the rivers, your go-to spot for cheering on the home team, or local park for a family picnic. Point out the murals that make you stop and think, and the bookstores and cafes that offer a quiet place to reflect and share common bonds. Help your neighbors, friends, and future travelers from near and far discover what you love most about Pittsburgh today, and ensure what is most important to preserve, or create, for the future.
